Microsoft Excel is an application which comes bundled with MS Office. Microsoft Excel cannot paste the data from merged cells. So you make sure that you copied data have no merged cells. If the copied data have merged cells then you need to remove merge attribute in the cells. Just select the range of cells and click on 'Merge and Center' to toggle it off. Now try to copy the data again. If you still have problem to paste the data in Excel spreadsheet then the excel file may be damaged.
